Steve O. Bio
Drums & Percussion

A native of the
Boston area, Steve O. started playing drums at the age of three and
performing professionally at fifteen. Growing up in a family comprised of
many musicians, he received a formal music education and continued private
studies with such notable drummers as Richard DiCenso, Jim Chapin, Bernard
Purdie and David Garibaldi. In 1989 Steve entered the musical manufacturing
industry as an artist relations director for a world renowned cymbal
manufacturing company, while continuing to work as professional
drummer/percussionist in the U.S. northeast region. He recently moved to Las
Vegas to continue his professional music career.
Steve O. has been a member of “The Drive”, “The
Swinging Steaks”,
“Mike Stone “(guitarist for Queensryche) and corporate
bands “Intrigue” and “Modern Manners”. One of his latest projects, “Pal
Joey” is a traditional be-bop jazz quartet. Members of “Pal Joey” include Ed
Grenga, producer for Red Peters, Jeffery Osborne, Gino Vanelli and numerous
movie soundtracks, Bob Gay, Saxophone extraordinaire for New Man, Chaka
Khan, David Bowie amongst others, and Tim Archibald, bass maestro for New
Man, RTZ, Peter Wolf and numerous international studio sessions.
Steve O’s. session
work includes percussion on the movie, “The Legend of Lucy Keyes”, drums and
percussion for the Family cable network, drums on “The Carol” TV Show and
drums and percussion on national jingle spots. He also had an acting role as
a member of the “Johnny Slade” band, in the movie, “Johnny Slades Greatest
Hits”, which featured key actors from the “Sopranos” and “The Seinfeld
Show”.
Steve O. has shared the stage, as part of opening acts,
with Blue Oyster Cult, the Guess Who and Roger Waters of Pink Floyed, to
name a few.
This May 2006, Steve O. shares his, versatility,
professionalism and enthusiasm with one of the Boston area’s most well known
groups, the Jon Frattasio Band, as they headline at Jimmy Buffett’s,
Margaritaville Café in Key West. This promises to be another powerful and
exciting week of performance on drums and percussion by Steve O.
